CURRENT PHD OPPORTUNITY

The overall aim is to integrate plant and microbial ecology to determine how plant-root microbes control seagrass responses to extreme events such as low salinity (from rainfall events) and heatwaves.  This project is a collaboration between UNSW, USYD, The Sydney Institute of Marine Science, Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Science, and the NSW Department of Primary Industries, offering a unique opportunity to benefit from multi-institutional support. We’re interested in the effects of below-ground microbes and plant genetics on seagrass performance. The project involves a multidisciplinary team of scientists with expertise in experimental field ecology, environmental microbiology and environmental management from SIMS, UNSW, USYD, U.Adelaide, MaqU, and SCELSE.
